The Kerem Tunnel allows for a an experience that is unique in terms of hiking and riding.
In the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route that surrounds Jerusalem's capital city, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.

The tunnel is located through the Nahal-Refaim-Emek-Motza path. It has a southern entrance located in Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the nearest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.

The 2.1-kilometer long tunnel was inaugurated on Thursday by Jerusalem and the heritage minister Ze'ev Elkin and Moshe Lion, the Mayor. Moshe Lion. Avi Baleshnikov of Gihon, chairman of Gihon as well as a multitude of cyclists also attended.

I encourage cyclists to visit and enjoy a modern and well-maintained cycling route that overlooks the special scenery of Old Jerusalem."

The project was financed by the Elkin's department and the Tourism Ministry.  נווה פריצקי It also included budgets for Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation. The work was carried out by the Jerusalem Development Authority.

Elkin said that the Kerem Tunnel project is an important tool in realizing the idea to change the way of thinking and transportation throughout Jerusalem. The aim is to encourage cyclists in Jerusalem.

The Kerem Tunnel, originally excavated by the Gihon Corporation in the 1990s to relocate the main sewer line toward Sorek's purification plant.

The work currently in progress includes road construction, installation of blowers, as well as advanced safety and electrical systems in order to ensure that the tunnel is secure for people to walk through throughout the year.

Kerem Tunnel Kerem Tunnel provides access to unique recreation locations, including Ein Kerem neighbourhood, the biblical aquarium and zoo , as well as the natural springs of historical significance Ein Haniyeh, Ein Laban and Ein Haniyeh.
